Christmas at St Mark's 2001

2001’s Advent course at St. Marks was a haven of peace and contemplation in the midst of the usual Christmas ‘busyness’.

Wednesday evenings were spent ‘looking at God through Art, Literature and Music’ and we had two visiting speakers, Mark Oakley (on whose book, The Collage of God , the course was based) and Guy Collins, curate at St. Michael’s, Barnes.

This was followed by ‘In Excelsis Deo’ our Community Carol Concert where we were delighted in particular by the singing from the children from Bishop Gilpin School and a recital by the actress Celia Imrie.

Everyone at St Mark’s worked hard to make the Christmas services a joyful time of worship for everyone who attended.

No Christmas is complete without a visit to the panto, and so we had our annual excursion to the Christmas pantomime at Wimbledon theatre which was thoroughly enjoyed by all who went.
