Weekly Themed Services
The worship at St. Mark’s is the focal point of our life together. Our main Sunday service is quite formal but also relaxed, dignified and friendly, with sermons that aim to educate and inspire. There is always time afterwards for a chance to catch up with friends and new acquaintances over coffee in our hall and garden.
Our weekly pattern of services is:
Sunday |
|
8:00am |
Holy Communion (in traditional language according to the Book of Common Prayer) |
10:00am |
Parish Eucharist with Sunday Club groups for children aged 2 – 11 |
Wednesday |
|
1:00pm |
Holy Communion |
At St Mark’s we follow our own themed services for half the year at our 10 am Sunday worship. This enables us to look at a given subject in more depth over a number of weeks, and to make it easier for the whole service to reflect that particular theme; this gives services a more coherent feel.
During the other half of the year (Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter) we follow the Church of England lectionary readings.
Please see below for details of our current service themes, including any special services. Sermons can be listened to and downloaded here.
