Youth Group

All the youth activities at St. Marks are centred towards providing a relaxed environment and great meeting place for teenagers.   We offer young people an experience of the living God within the context of their daily lives.  13-18 is a crucial year group; it is a time of excitement and challenges to faith, but also a time when young people will be seeking greater independence until ultimately they leave school and home for university or a career.
We encourage young people through a variety of events and learning opportunities to investigate their faith and the relevance of the Bible to our lives today.  Life is not always easy as a teenager and it can be especially challenging and fraught with conflicting emotions, thoughts and beliefs.  We try to address some of these challenges and struggles though relevant discussions as well as providing a safe and happy environment where young people can make friends and ask questions.  We would like our sessions to ensure that young people have the strongest foundation possible to continue in faith, no matter what life throws at them.

Most importantly, each session also allows very important social time and a chance to hang out together.   We enjoy listening to music, challenging each other on PSII or Wii, playing table tennis, going to a local bowling alley, football etc and organise a number of social events throughout the year.  Outings give us time together and a chance to build camaraderie.

Our youth group is run by Jonny our young, trendy youth worker and three friendly volunteers.  We meet on alternate Sunday evenings at 6.30pm during term time in our church hall.

The Christian journey is an exciting, lifelong adventure. As we encounter Jesus our lives become transformed by the experience and we are blessed with a rich deep faith through which we can continue to live.  Come with us on the journey
