Praying and fasting for Gaza
Bishop Christopher sent us this message earlier in the week: Our dear friend and colleague Richard Sewell, the Dean of St George’s College in Jerusalem, is inviting people to join him in fasting in solidarity with Gazans every Wednesday, beginning on 21st May. Please consider joining Richard by fasting in whatever way you can - using the time to pray for food and aid supplies to get into the region and meet the needs of those who are suffering so terribly. Please be sensible in fasting, doing only as much as you can manage and following medical advice, where necessary. If you do join in, you can share what you’re doing on social media by using the hashtag #fastforgaza.
Singing is an important part of our worship, and we are looking for a new part time
director of music who can help us raise our voices.
We are seeking someone to lead and support the musical life of St Mark’s, enabling
the congregation to participate fully in worship through music.
Please keep supporting local food banks if you can as many people are struggling to feed their families.
We have a lunch hour service every Wednesday in the small Chapel at 1pm. It lasts about half an hour. It consists of prayer, a short homily followed by communion in a relaxed environment.
Hugo led the procession with the donkey back to St Mark’s after the open-air Palm Sunday service outside Tesco, Wimbledon town centre.
